This weekend was all about celebrating. Friday we had our appointment at immigration. To say immigration here is easier than back home would be an understatement. After a little over two hours, I officially have permission to remain in Ireland for 3 years! If our immigration system was that easy, I’d still be in the states with my Husband. But, c’est la vie, we’re in the “land of a hundred thousand welcomes” now!

My paperwork for my nurse practitioner credentials haven’t gone through yet but I can be a barista now if I want! Happy days!

We went for pints Friday night to celebrate in a cute pub in Ranelagh. Pints are bigger here than in the states, I don’t need three pints here – lesson learned. The Guinness is so good though! Rob always complains that the Guinness just isn’t the same back home and he’s so right, it just hits different in Ireland!

Saturday was even more amazing! A stripper from KC, formerly known as Mascara (Gertrud, inside joke) had her first ever trip to the beach! She got to see the Irish sea and she was really impressed. Just kidding, she was terrified and hated the water!

She met a whole bunch of people and other dogs and despite hating the water, I think she actually had a really good time. She even got some vanilla ice cream at the end of the day. The weather was beautiful and we all had a nice, long walk!

This was the best weekend the three of us have had in a long time. I did not want to leave home; this was never plan A. But since we are here, we are going to make the most of it and experience as much of Ireland as we can while we wait for US immigration. Sláinte – cheers!
